Love for a university is a peculiar concept. I respect UW and am proud to be an alumnus because it is a major world center for research and teaching. It is a fine venue for education, and I am quite happy to have done an undergraduate degree in Seattle, but I do not love UW. I regard it with esteem and will continue to do so as long as it offers the highest standard of research and teaching. Love is a concept best left to third rate universities like WSU or "University" of Puget Sound unable to offer a high quality of teaching and research to students, the state, and the world at large. - EOP '66
