I first became a Husky fan as a small boy growing up in Longview. As an adult I took on the project of writing a biography of Gilmour Dobie, the UW football coach of 100 years ago who still holds the NCAA record for undefeated games over his nine years coaching the team. I was amazed at the level of research assistance I received from Special Collections,the outreach support provided through the Alumni Association and the marketing campaign undertaken by the University Bookstore.
