I love the UW for the warm memories it brings to me. Life was simpler then [except for scraping up tuition dollars], but it's better now. Most of the old buildings are still there, which gives us a feeling of the continuity of our years there. Every generation of my family has at least one member who graduated from the UW, and they speak frequently of their pride in that fact! "Bluebooks" for tests and "Sections" we had to go through for every quarter's registration have gone away, but the view from Red Square is still the loveliest in Seattle! - V. Starr, 1952.
