Why we love the UW - Real stories from UW alumni

Cherry blossoms, Suzzallo Library, top professors allowing a lifetime of curiosity to bloom even into old age. But I was unhappy with the UW when my own children were denied access to certain departments during the late 1970s to allow Minority students to override other students with better grades. I was teaching in Minority schools at the time, and saw Minorities get grants even with 2.GPA, plus access to all depts. Meantime they were bombing UW buildings. - Iris, 1972
